Moving abroad

A study abroad program or internship allows students to:

  • to expand their professional network internationally
  • gain professional experience and become more independent
  • to expand their professional knowledge
  • to discover other uses and skills
  • to improve one's proficiency in a foreign language
  • to help them enter the workforce or continue their education

The International Relations Office is here to assist you with your study abroad plans.

Student Mobility

The Béziers University Institute of Technology (IUT) and the University of Montpellier have signed various exchange agreements with European universities under the Erasmus+ program, as well as bilateral agreements with universities outside Europe.

Any student may study abroad for one semester or a full academic year during their third year of the BUT program at one of our partner universities, provided that a spot is available for their program. For students in the International Business track of the TC program, a two-semester study abroad experience is required as part of their BUT program.

How to verify your study abroad program

The student is nominated by his or her academic advisor at the university.

Once accepted by the university, the student can begin the administrative process to enroll.

The student selects courses that must be approved by their academic advisor. They must earn 30 ECTS credits per semester, or 60 ECTS credits per year.

Mobility Internship

By completing an internship abroad, you can significantly enhance your knowledge, as well as the skills and competencies sought by employers.

An internship abroad requires much more advance planning than an internship in France. There are several steps to take: finding an internship, applying for financial aid, finding housing, getting insurance, signing the agreement…

Travel assistance for internships is available for stays of two months or longer.

You may complete your internship at any location of your choice, provided it complies with the guidelines established by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The location must be verified with the International Relations Office and approved by the academic unit. The internship assignments must be approved by your internship supervisor.
