The “Hors Cadre
” Exhibition Opens at the IUT in Béziers

As part of the third edition of the Hors Cadre – Béziers Images Festival, the Béziers IUT is participating as a partner by hosting an exhibition by a photographer on its campus. This event, organized by the Hors Cadre Association, aims to promote photography and contemporary visual art in Béziers and the surrounding area.

The festival, which will take place in October 2026, continues to strive to offer a diverse and high-caliber program. This follows a second edition that showcased the work of 30 professional photographers from France and abroad at 20 iconic locations throughout the city.

By participating again this year, the Béziers University Institute of Technology (IUT) continues its involvement in the city’s cultural life and reinforces the connection between education, artistic creation, and engagement with the local community. 

Frédéric VOLPATO, Baseball Captured in the Moment

An amateur photographer, Frédéric Volpato became interested in baseball while accompanying his son Baptiste, a player for the Béziers Pirates and the French U-15 national team. This discovery led him to photograph the sport, eventually drawing his attention to a particularly fleeting moment in the game: the instant when the ball strikes the catcher’s mitt and kicks up a cloud of dust.

With “Dusty Catch,” he presents a series of images dedicated to this gesture, focusing in particular on light, color, and highlighting this dust that is almost imperceptible to the naked eye. This photographic approach transforms a fraction of a second into an image that blends the precision of the gesture with the movement and intensity of the sport.

The opening reception for the exhibition at the IUT will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the school’s lobby, with the artist in attendance.
