Conference: Understanding Mental Health to Take Better Action
Thursday, October 9, 2026, at 6:15 p.m. at the IUT in Béziers

The Béziers Doyen Lions Club is organizing a conference on mental health and well-being.
Mental health is playing an increasingly important role in prevention and public health issues. Yet the subject is still often misunderstood, surrounded by misconceptions, and sometimes subject to stigma.
This conference is part of an international initiative led by Lions Clubs International, which encourages its members to raise public awareness about the importance of mental health, to better inform and support those affected, and to help change public perceptions.
Three Perspectives for a Better Understanding
The event will feature three speakers, each of whom will offer a unique perspective on mental health and well-being.
The goal is to provide an opportunity for everyone to learn about and become more aware of mental health issues, by giving each person the tools to better understand the challenges related to mental health, as well as to identify resources and ways to take action.
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience, providing an opportunity to further explore the topics and ask questions of the speakers.
An evening open to everyone
Through this event, the Béziers Doyen Lions Club and the Béziers IUT hope to contribute, at the local level, to a better understanding of mental health issues and to foster an open dialogue on this topic.
Students, IUT staff, and the general public are invited to attend this conference.
