Tech Day: Artificial Intelligence and Predictive Maintenance
Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Béziers University Institute of Technology

On April 9, the Béziers University Institute of Technology (IUT) will host a Tech Day focused on artificial intelligence applied to predictive maintenance. This initiative is part of the efforts surrounding the professional bachelor’s degree program in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and serves a specific purpose: to foster dialogue between higher education institutions and industry stakeholders regarding the tools currently being deployed in production environments.
The event aims to showcase practical applications, analyze the conditions for their implementation, and highlight the skills required for these technology projects.
Committed industrial partners
Several companies in the sector will participate in this event, including IFM, Bosch Rexroth, Samson, Festo, and DI-analyse. These partners will present technical talks and operate booths featuring demonstrators, most of which were developed in collaboration with students from the Robotics & AI vocational bachelor’s program at the IUT de Béziers.
Scientific, industrial, and educational challenges
Predictive maintenance, which relies on the analysis of sensor data and artificial intelligence models, is a key driver for optimizing industrial performance. It enables companies to anticipate failures, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve equipment efficiency.
Beyond the technological challenges, this conference highlights the evolution of engineering professions, which are now characterized by interdisciplinarity, collaboration, and the integration of data science into industrial systems. It also contributes to the discussion on developing the skills needed for these transformations.
Schedule for the day
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome for participants and will end at 4:00 p.m.
In the morning, you will attend the sessions in the Linus Torvalds Auditorium, featuring presentations by companies and testimonials from industry professionals on the practical application of predictive maintenance in production.
Following the presentations, around 12:30 p.m., you are invited to a casual lunchtime reception in the exhibition hall, offering a great opportunity to network with the speakers, students, and industry partners.
The afternoon will then be devoted to exploring the manufacturers’ booths, where you can continue your discussions, examine the technical equipment, and ask any questions you may have in an interactive setting.
